Light up Malawi

Where it all started...

A group of friends travelled on motorcycles around Malawi in 2012 after graduating from University.

This is where idea was born to start an initiative to give something back to a country and people that gave us the greatest experience of our lives.

Facts about Malawi

Malawi in terms of per capita income, has recently been named the world’s poorest country.

Only 11% of the Malawian population has access to electricity
(World Bank, 2016)

In 2013, President Joyce Banda sold the presidential jet and a fleet of 60 luxury cars to feed the poor and fight malnutrition.

As part of the “Light-up Malawi” initiative we donate 1 solar top for every 10 solar tops sold &
1 solar top for every 8 solar jars sold.

The Solar tops are delivered by us, personally to the villages to ensure that every cent donated is well spent and every solar top makes its way to the people that need it most.
